Grace Revolution!

(Ome: Hey Beloveds!

I’m here with the verses and what I caught from Pastor’s recorded sermon last week, which was his first LIVE preaching in USA. This sermon was a historic sermon, as it was the first sermon that Pastor preached LIVE in USA. The atmosphere was so electric with anointing. Why? Because of the preaching that Pastor preaches. Pastor preaches Jesus, His grace, His righteousness, 100% pure. The people were longing for Jesus to be preached to them, they came expectant to receive, and the Lord was so ready to unleash the flood tide of His grace!

The sermon was so condensed that, I felt that just giving you what I caught would not be enough, so I added some points below between the verses as well. Once again, I pray that God makes this sermon fresh to me, and that He speak to me afresh from the sermon, and I would like to encourage you to to the same too!

I pray that the this sermon note is a blessing to you. Let’s join Jesus, and Pastor, for a GRACE REVOLUTION!

Grace to you for your exams. Wisdom, rest, and favour, in Jesus’ name! Blessed week!)

13 November Sunday Service

Preached by Pastor Prince

2nd Service (DVD of Lakewood Church Saturday service, Pastor Prince’s 1st LIVE preaching in USA)

Verses from the sermon:

John 1:17

17For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

The law was given, but grace came. Pastor could have sent a DVD of himself, but he came in person. It is more personal to come.

The law reveals what man ought to be. Grace reveals who God is.

Exodus 7:20-21

20And Moses and Aaron did so, just as the LORD commanded. So he lifted up the rod and struck the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants. And all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood. 21The fish that were in the river died, the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river. So there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

The first miracle under law was to turn water into blood, resulting in death.

John 2:9-10

9When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”

The first miracle under grace was to turn water into wine, resulting in celebration and life!

The law demands righteousness from bankrupt man. Grace imparts righteousness to sinful man.

Exodus 20:5

5you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

Under law, God says, He will be no means forget your sins, but He will visit your sins to the third and fourth generation.

Jeremiah 31:34

34No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, “Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

Under grace, God says, He will be merciful to your unrighteousness, and your sins and lawless deeds He will remember no more! Why? Because He once remembered them on Jesus at the cross, and punished them to the full extent! Hallelujah!

Romans 6:14

14For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Romans 5:17

17For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

Luke 5:6-8

6And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. 7So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”

Romans 2:4

4Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

Under law, you repent first, then God will bless you. Under grace, God blesses you first, then His goodness leads you to repentance!

Key take-home points:

  • The law demands righteousness from bankrupt man. Grace imparts righteousness to sinful man as a gift. The law is man performing to please God, doing to score points with God. But man, being man, will never be able to measure up to God’s standard. In His love, God came and imparts righteousness to man, and with righteousness comes every lesser blessing. Today, God’s beloved children do not have to perform anymore to earn their lot in life. Success is not achieved; it is received. Favour is not earned; it is received. Prosperity is not earned; it is received. Every good thing in life is received!
  • God did not forgive you by mercy. He forgave you by His righteousness. His mercy sent His Son Jesus Christ, but God forgave you righteously, because stroke upon stroke of His judgement fell on the body of His darling Son Jesus Christ, when He took your place and my place of sin, until Jesus cried, “it is finished!” All our sins punished, God’s law magnified, God’s justice satisfied, and when God has punished all our sins, they are as good as not there. Again, my favourite statement from Pastor Prince: God is righteous to make the sinner righteous!
  • Genuine repentance is change of mind. Repentance is not going to the altar and beating your breast and shouting “Jesus!” You will probably go back afterwards with nothing changed. Repentance is “metanoia” in Greek, which comes from “meta” (change) and “noia” (mind.) Repentance is simply changing of mind, changing in the way you see God, in what you believe. When Jesus’ grace is preached, people’s minds are changed from the I-have-to-earn mindset to favour mindset, to believe right. That, is true repentance.
