    Colossians 1 (Message Bible) 18-20He was…

    Colossians 1 (Message Bible)

18-20He was supreme in the beginning and—leading the resurrection parade—he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.

    1 Corinthians 13(Message Bible)

12We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! 13But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.

I really love the Message Bible for bringing out things in a completely new way!

Hebrews 13:20-21 (The Message) May God, …

    Hebrews 13:20-21 (The Message)
May God, who puts all things together,
    makes all things whole,
Who made a lasting mark through the sacrifice of Jesus,
the sacrifice of blood that sealed the eternal covenant,
Who led Jesus, our Great Shepherd,
up and alive from the dead,
Now put you together, provide you
with everything you need to please him,
Make us into what gives him most pleasure,
by means of the sacrifice of Jesus, the Messiah.
All glory to Jesus forever and always!
    Oh, yes, yes, yes.

    Romans 8:33-38
Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
As it is written: For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.
No, in all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through Him who loved us.

    Psalm 118 (Amplified)

4 Let those now who reverently and worshipfully fear the Lord say that His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.

5 Out of my distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free and in a large place.

6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

7 The Lord is on my side and takes my part, He is among those who help me; therefore shall I see my desire established upon those who hate me.

8 It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

Amen! I really like the part in verse 6: “what can man do to me?” Truly, if God is on my side, He is my protection and my Shield; my Refuge and Fortress, what can man do to me?

    You’re Blessed!

3″You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.

4″You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

5″You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.

6″You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.

7″You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.

8″You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.

9″You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.

10″You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.

11-12″Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble.

It’s awesome that we’re blessed in all kinds of circumstances! I think we’ve all reached some point in time when we’re at the end of our rope, or have lost something dear to us – yet in those situations we are blessed! And when we’re crazy for God to the point that we’re persecuted, God calls us blessed! And He has the first and last word in our lives. (:

And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken; and they were all FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT, and they continued to SPEAK the Word of God with FREEDOM and BOLDNESS and COURAGE.

Walk by Faith – Jeremy Camp

Will I believe you when you say
Your hand will guide my every way
Will I receive the words You say
    Every moment of every day

Well I will walk by faith
    Even when I cannot see
    because this broken road
    Prepares Your will for me

Help me to rid my endless fears
You’ve been so faithful for all my years
With the one breath You make me new
Your grace covers all I do

yeah, yeah , yeah, yeah, yeah

well i will walk by faith
    even when i cannot see
    because this broken road
    prepares your will for me

Well I’m broken- but I still see Your face
Well You’ve spoken- pouring Your words of grace

Well I will walk by faith
    Even when I cannot see
    Well because this broken road
    Prepares Your will for me

Well I will walk by faith
    Even when I cannot see
    Well because this broken road
    Prepares Your will for me

    Hallelujah, hallelu

Awesome song that was sung by Sean at the end of service yesterday! I absolutely love the chorus: I will walk by faith, even when I cannot see, because this broken road prepares Your will for me!!!!

So even though the path we walk doesn’t always feel great, walk by faith because it prepares His will for you!!

    Psalm 118:24

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

    Genesis 1:31

God saw all that He had made, and it was very good..

When God makes, He makes from scratch. Like when He made the Earth, He made it all from scratch. So God probably makes a day from scratch. First, the evening and the morning, the structure of a day. Then, He fills the day with what He thinks is good. So when God makes a day, He crafts it from scratch, to make it good for us. No doubt there are times when you feel a day is going wrong.. But God has also said:

    Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.

So He is working for our good. All bad circumstances are working for our good.

    Proverbs 24:10

If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!

    Nehemiah 8:10

…This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

    Psalm 28:7-8

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped… The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for His anointed one.

If we falter, it is because of the smallness of our strength. But thank God He is our strength! The joy of the Lord is our strength and He is now eternally joyful with us because of Jesus’ sacrifice! Look not to yourself, but to the loving, joyful Father to be your strength in times of trouble and you will not fall.

Haha. Just linking together a train of thoughts..

      http://cap5.rantx.com/2010/05/if-you-faint-in-the-day-of-adversity/
teck beng posted the same verse on fainting in the day of adversity.

anyway, im going to try to put everything into one sentence.
Rejoice because He has made the day for us and saw that it was very good, turning all things together for our good, so even if we have small strength and falter in times of trouble, we ought not to grieve as the joy of the Lord us our strength and He is our strength and shield. Whosoever trusts in Him is helped and He tabernacles over us.

but i have failed. alas, a great prize awaits those who can put these all in one sentence.
      the challenge is on!

    • belovedalicia 11:04 am on June 2, 2010 Permalink

haha yeah i got the proverbs verse from tb’s post. and lol at the attempt to put it in one sentence. It’s gonna be such a long sentence!!!

This is the Day – Lincoln Brewster!

oops i failed in putting the youtube video up. hahaha. ><

    • belovedalicia 12:09 pm on June 2, 2010 Permalink

Rejoice for God has made today and in His eyes it is good for us; so do not be disheartened in a bad day, because the joy of the Lord is your strength and shield, He is your fortress and He makes all things work for our good.

One sentence! I want my prize!!!!

    • ome 10:20 am on June 3, 2010 Permalink

Wahaha! That’s one long sentence! =D

But yeah, sometimes in the daily grind of life, it is natural for us to begin to feel that the days are getting mundane. This lecture to that tutorial, then lunch, then OMG this lecture is right after lunch I’m gonna fall asleep. Sianz. Rinse and repeat 5 times, and you have a week. Haha.

But when we begin to see that every day is a day that God has prepared for us, we will live our lives with expectancy that God will cause blessings to hit us. Maybe it’s a favoured conversation, maybe it’s meeting a friend on the bus, or running into Alicia in school. 😛 Okay, anyone from CG, I mean. =)

And I like what Alice said that when a day seems to have gone wrong, we know that He works all things for our good. Without consciousness that the day is God-ordained, when things go wrong, we’ll be like argh! Part and parcel of school/work life. Wut to do. But when we realize that God made the day for us, we realize that if God has allowed it, He is going to turn it for your good! 😉

    • selene 9:53 am on June 4, 2010 Permalink

alicia, as i have mentioned to you. your sentence violates certain grammatical principles that i hold dearly to my heart. hahaha. but i will give you your prize after camp. haha
